Senior year will fly by and the deadlines come faster than you think! Whether you're preparing for college, trade school, or applying for scholarships, a little planning now can make the entire year smoother. Here’s a month-by-month breakdown to keep you on track:
📆 July–August
● Finalize your college list
● Draft your personal statement and scholarship essays
● Request recommendation letters
● Create a scholarship spreadsheet
● Begin exploring the Wilco Omega Scholarship Foundation and other local awards
📆 September
● Begin applying for local and early-deadline scholarships
● Stay involved in your extracurriculars
● Attend college fairs or workshops
📆 October
● Submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) starting October 1
● Submit Early Action/Early Decision college applications
● Make sure your recommenders submit their letters
📆 November–December
● Finish Regular Decision applications
● Polish scholarship essays
● Apply to WCOSF when the application opens
📆 January–February
● Check your email frequently for scholarship and admissions updates
● Submit any final scholarship applications
● Follow up with recommenders or school counselors
📆 March–May
● Review and compare college acceptance letters and financial aid packages
● Choose your school and submit your deposit!
